How to run 100 miles

The film, How To Run 100 Miles, directed by Brendan Leonnard, is about the journey of  two men, Jason and Brendan. They are attempting to run 100 miles in 36 hours for an ultra marathon. Brendan didn't believe that he could make it within the time limit even after extensive training. With Jason’s will power and determination they are able to complete the ultra marathon within the time limit.

I think Brendan’s goal/ purpose of this film was to inspire and inform the viewer about Jason and Brendan's dreams, failures and successes.

What I took away from this film was in order to be successful you need patience, and you need to be determined to achieve your goals.  For example Jason started out in wrestling where he lost all of his matches for two years but he kept going until he won one. Another example of this is Jason's mother,  when Jason was in third grade, his mother divorced his father. Jason's mum then had to figure out how to feed and look after 6 kids on one salary but she managed to get through it. I think this is really cool because I have had things that I have managed to get through by using the messages used. For example I have been dancing for 9 nearly 10 years, I have been entered in dance competitions for the majority of that time. It took me about 2 years to actually win one of my dances at the competitions.

While watching this film I felt determined, inspired and excited, This film also makes me want to run 100 miles because of the patience and the achievements. After watching the film I felt dismal because I am not physically nor mentally strong enough yet to run 100 miles.

The character that made the greatest impression on me was Syd Jones. Syd Jones was a friend of Jason and Brendan, he was also the “Crew Chef”. He made the greatest impression on me because of how positive and thoughtful he was throughout the whole film. An example of this was when he was waiting at one of the checkpoints for Brendan and Jason, he was taking into consideration what they would want when they got to the checkpoint.

A connection I made between the film and the world around me, is that my english teacher, Vanessa Gopperth (Mrs Gopperth), has also run an ultra marathon called the Great Naseby Water Race, the race consisted of mostly forest. Mrs Gopperth watched this film and was inspired to run 100 miles, then she trained for months for this race and when the day of the race came around she decided it was a good idea to document it through video. Mrs Gopperth said she is planning on running another ultra marathon in 2021. As someone who loves going on walks, knowing someone who has actually run 100 miles and is going to run another 100, is extremely inspiring, it makes me believe that I can do it to. I think when I'm a bit older I will attempt to run an ultra marathon too.

Those thoughts..

My poem :D
I'm not the best at this so please don't be mean

Those thoughts...

You know those thoughts that keep you up at night?
The ones that force your eyes open with fright.
When you are on the search for solitude,
Those thoughts may break your solemn mood.
Those thoughts are fixed into my brain,
they are always pulsing through my veins.
sprinting circles around my head,
They will begin to fill my eyes with dread.
Those thoughts I have are constantly moving
It's about time I start proving
That I can live without them.
I'm on a journey for self-acceptance
To end those thoughts, intercepting
My everyday life.

I need independence from Those Thoughts.

Tomorrow, When The War Began (Book Review + Kahoot)

Tomorrow When The War Began, TWTWB is a adventure story where a group of teenagers decide to go on a camping trip up in the mountains for a while but everything is not as it seems.

Blurb
Ellie and her friends leave home one quiet morning, wave goodbye to their parents, and head up into the hills to camp for awhile; seven teenagers filling in time during the school holidays.

The world is about to change forever.

Their lives will never be the same again.

Would you fight? Would you give up everything? Would you sacrifice even life itself?

Tomorrow when the war began asks the biggest questions you will ever have to answer.

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!

(sorry the video is a bit stretched)

What country invaded Australia?

I think the country that invaded Australia in Tomorrow when the war began (TWTWB) is North Korea. For example in the first book it is stated that Ellie cannot understand the language spoken by the soldiers, when she and a few others were hiding in the toilets. The explanation of my theory is that Kim jong un is wanting more power and to be able to control more people, so he decides instead of invading a big country that can fight back, like America, that he will invade a smaller country with less weaponry, for example Australia. He would want a clean invasion for two main reasons, because he wouldn't want to alert America or any bigger countries, and he would want to move his people into Australia or make the Australians apart of his system.

I hope you enjoyed reading my blog and listening to my opinion. just remember all of these conspiracy theories are just theories, I am not stating them as fact. This is for entertainment purposes only and is not meant to harm anyone or any company.

I don't enjoy reading about people peeing in bottles

So in English we were told to pick out a book from a pile and read it, so I picked a book called Louis de Bernieres, Captain Corelli's Mandolin.

This book is extremely confusing, at first there was a man with a pea in his ear, then there was a canon and a guy who hates cats? I haven't even figured out where its set although I think it might be set in France evidence being the names and the hating of cats.

Also there was a priest who was in a church behind a screen and he needed to pee, but he didn't want to leave because he would get seen, and wouldn't get any more gifts so he drunk wine, peed in the bottle and then got alcohol poisoning I predict that he will survive the alcohol poisoning.
